What if I get COVID in Morocco?

If you become seriously ill during your time in Morocco, all the government hospitals are equipped to care for COVID patients. If you have mild symptoms and have to quarantine, you will have the option to arrange your own quarantine, which can include hotels equipped to allow for safe quarantining. If someone is unable to make their own arrangements, they will have to quarantine in the hospital. You may not be allowed to depart Morocco while you are ill. You can find the numbers to contact your consulate here.

Travel Requirements

  • As of September 30, 2022, Morocco has lifted all entry requirements to the Kingdom. There are no vaccination, testing, or quarantine requirements to visit Morocco.

Testing in Morocco

While the United States and many other countries no longer require negative COVID testing, it may still be required for some. Testing facilities are easily found in all major cities. The testing costs 400 - 600 dh (approximately $40 - $60 USD) per test, and the results are turned around within 4 - 16 hours. Most testing clinics are on a walk-in basis. PCR testing is most common - antigen tests are rarely found.

Moroccan State of Emergency

Morocco retains a “State of Emergency” designation in order to allow for swift changes of protocols as needed during the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, at present, there are no mask mandates, curfews, or entry requirements.
